From January 15th to March 30th the magnificent humpback whales are visiting the Dominican Republic: a unique event!
Each year, we have the pleasure to observe those amazing mammals coming to our shores to reproduce.
Our trip starts with the interesting way to Samana, while a professional guide tells you everything about Dominican life, people, history, fauna and flora, and, of course, about the yearly whale visit. Once in a little town called Las Cañitas, we’ll board the boat that will take us to the sighting of the humpback whales.
Once the sighting is over, we head to Cayo Levantado Island (Bacardi Island), where a delicious buffet lunch and sea front awaits us. After lunch, we can enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters and white sands, or simply lie in the shade of the coconut trees.
Then we take the boat and go to Samana, where the safari type transport awaits us, in which we move to get to the ranch. There we ride the horses in the virgin forests and the river Rio Rivera, until we reach the waterfall Salto del Limón, with a height of more than 60 meters, to give us a refreshing and rejuvenating bath. After that we return to the ranch and start the way back to the hotels.
Two transportation options are available: by plane or by bus.
You can do it a million times, the whale watching is always exciting!
